Brooks Herring is an award-winning songwriter, Nashville recording artist, proud U.S. Navy veteran, and 2026 South Carolina Military Veterans Hall of Fame inductee whose music blends country, Southern rock, and blues with the authenticity of lived experience.

 

Originally from Conway, South Carolina, and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Herring completed multiple combat deployments in support of operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa. The resilience, sacrifice, and perspective gained through his military service continue to shape his songwriting and connect deeply with audiences from all walks of life.

 

Known for his dynamic acoustic performances and powerful full-band shows, Herring has built a reputation for delivering honest, emotionally driven songs rooted in real stories. His releases, including fan favorites “Why Me” and “How to Fix a Broken Heart,” have generated more than 1.6 million streams across digital platforms, helping him cultivate a growing audience throughout the United States and beyond.

 

Offstage, Herring holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor’s degree in Songwriting from Belmont University. He remains a passionate advocate for veterans navigating combat-related challenges while supporting nonprofit organizations, community initiatives, and emerging songwriters.
